Debbie Dixon Barney
Many years ago, I had a dream of becoming a counselor, and in August 2022, my dreams came true when I graduated from Liberty University with a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. My approach to counseling is eclectic, but my preferred modalities are Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Person Centered Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy.
Prior to becoming a professional counselor, I worked mostly with teens and young adults in various capacities and thoroughly enjoy the nuances of this stage of life. I bring a wealth of life experience with me into each counseling session and am comfortable working with people from all backgrounds, ethnicities, genders, and ages.
Regardless of where we are in life, we all have hopes and dreams, but sometimes unexpected life events, traumas, or mental health concerns can paralyze us from moving towards our future. I would welcome the chance to work with you as you embark on a journey to better mental health….and let’s see what dreams wake up.
